Press Release Body = Wenatchee, WA - February 23, 2007 - John Brangwin recently
instructed attorneys on DUI defense at a Continuing Legal Education course held at
the downtown Seattle Public Library. The half-day course was presented by the
Washington Defenders Association. Over seventy five (75) lawyers from throughout
Washington State attended. Other speakers included Kirkland lawyer Eric Gaston and
Bellevue lawyers Ted Vosk and Scott Wonder.

The course was entitled "DUIs in a Post Jensen World". The State Supreme Court
case of Fircrest v. Jensen changed the way courts consider legal issues inherent in
DUIs. The goal of the four-hour CLE was to give defenders the skills they need to
effectively try DUI cases in the post Jensen world through pre-trial motions and
trial strategies. The faculty discussed successful motions to suppress the breath
tests, as well as, methods and strategies for challenging implied consent warnings
and opposing the State\'s case at trial. The CLE ended with basic information about
the Department of Licensing, giving defenders what they needed to know to help their
clients limit the licensing consequences of a DUI.

The Washington Defender Association is a non-profit organization created in 1983 to
promote, assist, and encourage public defense systems which ensure that all accused
persons in every court receive effective assistance of counsel.

John Brangwin is a well respected DUI defense lawyer in North Central Washington.
He is certified in the NHTSA Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and certified on the
